Job Description:
The Equipment Finance Business Development Associate II assists the business unit in increased booked transaction volume and increasing TDEF's value proposition to our clients and prospects by enhancing our Value Proposition through increased execution ability. This job supports TDEF's Business Development Teams in multiple origination channels and assists in all phases of the deal process – Originations, Credit Adjudication, Asset Valuations and the Closing Process. This job consists of an 18 to 24 month program that will provide an opportunity to work within the TDEF Business Development teams, with the intent of providing broad and deep exposure to the TDEF Sales Officer role and all aspects of client interaction from developing to managing the client relationship.
Depth & Scope:
Performs reviews and evaluations of new equipment finance transactions relative to alignment with approved Strategy including but not limited to Off Balance Sheet Leases, Tax Leases, Synthetic Lease, Guidance Lines of Credit, etc.
Reviews and independently validates pricing parameters including but not limited to Cost of Funds, Tax Lease assumptions (MACRS Life, Depreciation Methods) and Spread assumptions based on TDEF's Pricing & Proposal Policies
Reviews Equipment Finance Bids and validates alignment of collateral structure and lease parameters to all TDEF Policies & Procedures
Represents Business Development teams by presenting / participating in Deal Discussions as an advocate for client / prospect
Independently coordinates with Credit Management to facilitate and advocate on behalf of our clients and prospects the preparation of credit submissions and other documentation related to the transaction approval process.
Actively engages in the process of Legal Documentation reviews and negotiations, specifically coordinating the resolution among stakeholders including Credit Management, Credit Risk, Operations, and Asset Management.
Facilitates / initiates collateral valuations and residual analysis with Asset Management for new EF opportunities
Attends customer & prospect meetings where applicable
Performs the role of BD Officers during times of transaction overflow
Establishes working relationship with CSB Corporate Banking and TDS counterparts
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required; Business, Finance or Accounting preferred
5-7 years' prior Credit Management experience in the Equipment Finance Industry
2-4 years' experience in mid – large ticket equipment finance transactions preferred
Strong knowledge of credit underwriting metrics including Borrower Risk Rating calibrations, financial spreadsheet modeling and financial statement analysis
Knowledge of finance & tax accounting, particularly in the area of Tax & Operating Leases
Ability to review, comprehend & negotiate equipment finance legal documents
Ability to utilize Lease Pricing Software for Tax Leases and Operating Leases
Highly motivated with demonstrating ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests
Strong work ethic; ability to take initiative and function independently with minimal supervision, balance with strong teamwork skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills; superb interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels and
partners in the organization
Detailed-oriented; effective time management and strong organizational and planning skills
Willingness to travel including overnight if necessary
Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
Demonstrated In-depth understanding of commercial credit decision process
