Job Description:

Scope of Accountability (Portfolio / Platform Alignment):

  • Trusted advisor providing guidance and challenge on business and technology risks and controls for Customer, Commercial and Corporate Platforms. Proactively monitor Customer, Commercial and Corporate platforms, guiding business and technology partners to operate within TD's risk tolerance.

Risk Management:

  • Lead a group of highly skilled 1B Risk practitioners who will enable the achievement of Platform Objectives while operating within the Bank's Risk Appetite.

  • Manage business and technology / cyber risk in compliance with the approved set of polices, standards, processes and guidelines.

  • Proactively inform partners on overall risk position through reporting, metrics, analysis and insights.

  • Understand and help drive successful change for multiple applications across CTB (Projects), RTB (material change), and/or in NEW.

  • Perform risk identification and challenge across change activities, processes, and initiatives.

  • Identify, assess, monitor, report on and help prioritize the remediation of risk and control gaps or issues.

  • Determine residual risk and management of control issues in accordance with Risk Treatment Process.

  • Work closely with other governance and control teams to consider and monitor "day 2" requirements, issues and risk and control activities.

  • Provide governance, risk, control and related expertise to the Platform Owner, Product Families, and Product Groups within the Platform

  • Appropriately report on risks and issues per NEW standards and using appropriate tooling; provide requisite information for transparent and standardized enterprise scorecards, KIs, reporting etc.

Relationship Management:

  • Provide business, technology and cyber security risk leadership and support to partners as primary liaison on behalf of EP.

  • Provide thought leadership on technology risk and cyber security trends and their impact on the Enterprise and segment.

  • Collaborate with partners by providing expertise to enable informed decisions in alignment with the overall Bank risk tolerance.

  • Demonstrate excellent judgment and ability to effectively escalate issues & concerns quickly and to appropriate leaders and control areas.

Regulatory and Industry:

  • Proactively inform themselves on risk policy changes and key changes in laws and regulations.

  • Bring a strong understanding of legal, regulatory, risk and governance landscape pertinent to the Platform.

  • Advocate for inclusion of regulatory technology risk controls in our standards and assessments.

  • Advocate in industry group discussions on governance, guidance, challenge, and testing of risk controls.

  • Build strong, effective relationships with risk and control partners, enabling speed of decision making and facilitating transparent and timely communication of key information and potential risks.

Contract and Vendor:

  • Consume the results of cyber risk assessments to validate the effectiveness of third-party cyber controls.

  • Ensure consistent inclusion of required security provisions and maintain current cyber security baseline provisions.

  • Partner with CSOC/CSIRT to support, respond and action third party cyber security incidents.

Risk Programs and Strategic Alignment:

  • Understand applicable TD risk programs and how they affect the aligned portfolio.

  • Execute and/or support established risk programs to drive transparency and risk mitigation activities.

  • Adapt operating model to proactively align to emerging and in-flight Enterprise Strategies, Platform & Technology Strategies, driving efficiency and effectiveness across portfolio (e.g. Cloud, NEW / Risk Marketplace / Platforms, Currency Factory).
