Job Description:

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Third Party Risk Office (TPRO) and is responsible for supporting the Third-Party Risk Management Office (TPRO). The successful candidate is a results-driven individual, someone who thrives in complexity and high-level of ambiguity. This team with focus on managing third party risks, providing guidance and challenge the processes related to the control environment, and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements and TD Standards. In this role you will have the following core responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will continue to grow their skill as a collaborator, innovator, and strategic thinker with key accountabilities in designing and/or supporting the development of processes and programs and will have a proactive approach with the ability to anticipate business needs.

  • Strong understanding of TD Enterprise Process Excellence methodologies, including experience in designing policies, processes, and procedures

  • Experience in Process Management / Process Improvement

  • Critical thinker with a background in the creation of processes and standard operating procedures.

  • Collaborate and streamline all TPRO owned Policies, Processes, Procedures, Standards and other relevant contents.

  • Collaborate on the end-to-end delivery of change management activities throughout the lifecycle of moderately complex initiatives and changes

  • Elevate the Practice of Change Management to be best in class while aligning with enterprise tools, methodologies, and applying Lean Change principles

  • Collaborate, co-create and engage with a diverse range of program and initiative partners, communicating with impact

  • Actively track all applicable Regulatory requirements around the management of Third Parties and adjust existing materials accordingly.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for challenging the status quo and taking action to achieve results.

  • Coordinates with TPRO Senior Managers to ensure messages to stakeholders and/or employees are consistent, appropriate and aligned to the bank strategies and executive management direction.

  • Identify, mitigate and report on risk issues and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed.

  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.

  • Developing, communicating, and implementing a holistic efficiency program in support of and integrated with the overall EVMO strategy.

  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure and in alignment with risk appetite.

  • Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency.

  • Lead the implementation of regulatory change management and provide guidance to the team in the development and/or integrated implementation of policies / procedures / changes across multiple business / functional areas.

  • Assess / identify key issues and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders and business management where required.

  • Identify, mitigate and report on risk issues per enterprise policy / guidance and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed.

  • Ensure business operations are in compliance with applicable requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets)

  • Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)

Job Requirements

  • Ability to thrive within an active environment with a high level of ambiguity with the need to be agile and adapt to last-minute changes/events.

  • High proficiency in MS Visio.

  • Relevant Change Management accreditations are an asset

  • Vendor Management and Third-Party Procurement expertise is an asset.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to adapt based on the forum and audience.

  • Experienced in reprioritizing timelines due to shifting objectives / business needs.

  • Identify, assess, monitor, report on and help prioritize the remediation of 3rd party risk and control gaps or issues including playing a lead role in creating the TPRO programs, and processes.

  • Collaborate with partners by providing expertise to enable informed decisions in alignment with the overall risk tolerance.

  • Program / Project Management experience

  • Strong communications & presentation skills. Must be comfortable in working with executive levels up to/including SVP's, senior executives.

  • Highly motivated individual with a proven track record of delivering results through ambiguity.

  • Ability and demonstrated experience in exercising sound judgment, dealing with sensitive information and situations.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills coupled with an ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deliver high quality work under pressure.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral; active listener and ability to distill and consolidate information into clear and concise information.

  • Enable, oversee, and support the 1st line of defense for third party activities with the following core capabilities:

  • Enhancing the culture and awareness of proactively managing and mitigating Third Party Risk

  • Performing support and effective 1B challenge of Third Party Risk activities

  • Driving change initiatives in the Third Party space on behalf of the businesses and corporate areas

  • Act as a Liaison with 2nd line, 3rd line and Regulators on behalf of the 1st line.
