Department Overview:

Transformation, Enablement and Customer Engagement (TECE) Governance and Control (G&C) is a first line of defense (1B) function and responsible for supporting and enabling TECE (1A) lines of business to appropriately identify, understand, manage, and mitigate the key risks they own in alignment with Bank strategy and risk appetite.

Job Description :

Are you passionate about managing a portfolio of governance and control activities for moderately complex or high-risk business or functional area? Can you implement policies, processes and initiatives to meet governance and control guidelines while acting as a technical lead on key control initiatives? As Governance and Control Specialist, you will:

• Contribute to the strategic direction of the business governance and control function and play a key role in the development and implementation of risk strategies in support of the overall business strategy

• Develop and document a comprehensive inventory of processes and controls with clearly defined owners and roles and responsibilities for each process and control

• Participate in the intake of applicable regulation, assessment of impact to the business line, and the comprehensive mapping of associated controls to rules and regulations.

• Ensure programs / policies / practices are well managed, meets business needs / priorities, and complies with internal / external requirements

• Exercise discretion in managing communication / correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality

• Lead research projects; support the development / delivery of materials and presentations to management or broader audience

• Highly seasoned professional role requiring substantial business knowledge / expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas

• Integrate knowledge of the enterprise sub-function’s or business line’s overarching strategy in developing solutions across multiple functions or operations

• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions

• Participate as a member of the team, support a positive work environment and ensure timely communication

• Provide leadership as a Subject Matter Expert and participate in knowledge transfer within the team / business unit

• Keep current on emerging trends / developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques

Job Requirements :

• Seasoned professional with over 7 years of relevant experience

• Undergraduate degree is an asset

• Proficiency with MS Office and internet applications

• Integrated knowledge of business, operational functions, methods and regulatory requirements to solve complex problems and develop new solutions

• Expert knowledge of technical processes, procedures, tools and technologies and project management methodologies

• Strong communications skills and organizational awareness to communicate difficult concepts, coordinate effectively with increasingly senior shareholders and integrate work with other areas

• A dynamic leader with robust organizational and team management skills to work with a team and handle multiple priorities a fast-paced environment
