Department Overview
The Corporate Segment Reporting & Analysis team, as part of the Corporate Segment Finance team, is responsible for managing, analyzing, reporting and forecasting the Corporate segment financial results to ensure the right governance, transparency and challenge is provided. This includes a mandate to improve the transparency and meaningfulness of the results, while striving for continuous improvement in analytics and forecasting capabilities.
This represents an excellent opportunity for a candidate to understand a wide variety of Corporate areas and to develop an understanding of how various functions' activities impact Financial and Management reporting. The team also acts as a Centralized source for consolidated reporting and analytics and strives to increase efficiency in the reporting of the broader Corporate Segment Finance expense advisory teams.
Job Description
The position will encompass a range of responsibilities with regards to Corporate segment teams, specifically focused on leading the activities relating to Corporate Segment reporting, forecasting, planning & analysis.
This role gains exposure to senior executives such as the Corporate CFO and Deputy Head of Finance for TD Bank.
Oversee reporting and analysis for monthly and quarterly operating results, planning and forecasting
Provide/review insightful and relevant commentary to senior management on business results, forecast and Plan that provide a reasonable view of the future for the business to improve decision-making.
Proactively engage in Corporate Segment stress testing processes, models, documentation and framework
Liaise extensively Segment Finance and TBSM finance groups, to ensure all relevant components are reported appropriately in Segment reporting.
Create and deliver ad-hoc analyses, special projects/reports
Provide thought leadership and recommendations for identifying and implementing process improvements
Maintain key controls and governance in line with the Bank's approval guidelines
Prepare regular Corporate Segment Monthly and Quarterly Operating Results package, including ad hoc analysis for senior leadership purposes.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency by ensuring efficient and effective processes, leveraging automation where appropriate.
Maintain good relations with all internal stakeholders and ensure that all their requirements are met. Must be able to work with minimal supervision in an unstructured and fast-paced environment.
Job Requirements
Qualifications/Competencies
Undergraduate degree in business and relevant professional designation (CPA/CFA/CMA preferred)
7+ years of experience in a business or banking environment
Previous experience in planning, forecasting, expense management and financial analysis
Experience using financial reporting systems (e.g., Hyperion, Tableau, and Alteryx) considered an asset
Highly proficient in MS Excel
Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities
Proven track record and experience in leading continuous improvement or process improvement projects and initiatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Proactive self-starter with abilities to work both independently and with a team
Must be able to think conceptually (“out-of-the-box”) and have a high degree for attention to detail.
Proficient in time management and demonstrated adaptability when changes are required
Must be able to work with minimal supervision in an unstructured and fast-paced environment.
Strong comfort level in presenting to executives
Ability to proactively follow up on identified issues and work toward resolution
Demonstrates excellent judgment and professionalism when dealing with various partners
