Job Description:

Job Role/Responsibilities

The candidate will be responsible for the management of Japan Finance related tasks including but not limited to running of the daily/monthly finance report, expense, head office reporting, regulatory reporting, transfer pricing and to assist in the review of current processes.

Advise on potential changes that can be made to current regulatory policies that relates to Finance and liaise with both internal and external auditors for necessary audits or assessments.

In addition, the candidate will be responsible to support other Finance related tasks for our Asia-Pacific entities including involving in new initiatives for the bank.

  • Regulatory Reporting – Responsible for completing/reviewing regulatory returns.

  • Management Reporting – Responsible for producing /reviewing management deck and perform ad hoc analysis.

  • Capital Reporting – Responsible for monitoring/reviewing capital returns for the entities.

  • Tax Reporting – Responsible for completing/reviewing tax returns for the entities.

  • Projects - Includes automation initiative, EUC deliverables and assessment of new businesses.

  • Audit – Work with Internal/External auditors to close out any gaps.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The role provides a great learning opportunity and provides excellent exposure to the various facets of the finance function from both a “Run the bank” and “Change the bank” perspective fostering one's career in the field of Finance and Accounting.

Job Requirements

  • Professionally qualified (CPA/ACCA/CA)

  • Good understanding of Japan's regulatory/financial (JGAAP) reporting requirements

  • Advanced/Superior proficiency in Japanese language is required. Intermediate/Advanced English speaking ability.

  • Preferably 7+ years of experience.

  • Big 4 candidates with Finance or Tax or Audit background would be considered.

  • Preferably understand the Wholesale business and products, although not a must.
