Department Overview

The Business Management team in TD Wealth Shares Services includes a broad range of functions that provide integrated support across TD Wealth including Direct Investing, Wealth Advice, and TD Asset Management. Functions include strategic planning, productivity, client experience programs, change management, communications and colleague experience, business process management, network and branch real estate strategy. Our dynamic professionals demonstrate their expertise to enable and operate to drive our Wealth strategic priorities.

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications TD Wealth, the role of Manager, Business Management supports the delivery and execution of strategic business communication programs primarily for the Wealth Advice business.

The incumbent will leverage their business savvy and expertise to support a diverse portfolio of Wealth Advice initiatives on their journey to becoming the wealth advice firm of choice for Canadians. The key accountabilities for this position will include:

  • Develop and execute a fiscal year executive communications strategy, and act as the primary lead for all tactics/deliverables related to the strategy, and ad hoc requests

  • Provide thought leadership and/or guidance to an executive audience (output is roadmap and/or strategic plan/ deliverables/frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)

  • Act as the strategic communications partner lead with project teams on change/transformation projects, owning the planning and tactical execution, providing strategic counsel and advice and regularly advising partners of status

  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the business management function and play a key role in the development and implementation of strategies in support of the overall business strategy

  • Create high-impact communications that leverage TD's corporate standards and best practices and use a variety of tactics and mediums (written, intranet, video, virtual and face-to-face), ensuring consistent messaging

  • Work with colleagues to leverage learnings, identify efficiencies and build these into standards for content: look & feel, tone, focus, audience relevance, etc.

  • Understand key business partners' objectives, direction and ongoing initiatives and advise to achieve the desired outcomes

  • Lead partner to management / leadership and respective teams for area of specialization with industry, external and internal, enterprise and business awareness; recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and identifying issues and opportunities and recommending action to senior management

Job Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary/university degree in a business-related discipline, in addition to a minimum five years of related communications experience, preferably in the wealth industry

  • Ability to produce professional messages that are tailored to audience needs and support the overall success of the business

  • Exceptional writing, editing, proofing and presentation skills, with an ability to synthesize and summarize details quickly and leverage the power of words in a variety of media

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to convey a tone, voice and style that reflects and reinforces the Advice brand

  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to take on complex initiatives and multi-task, managing multiple timelines, stakeholders, and relationships

  • Confident in your ability to deliver results within aggressive timelines

  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to changing and ambiguous initiatives or requirements

  • Solid knowledge of SharePoint and MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Visio)

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
