8-10 years of work experience

Financial Services experience preferred

Objective knowledge of environmental issues and related public policy gained through a combination of educational post-graduate experience in environmental science or related fields

Strong understanding of regulatory environment, key stakeholders relevant to operation of TD Bank, NA

Great negotiating and influencing skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work independently, think critically, multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Job Description Summary

The Manager of Environmental Affairs is primarily responsible for the execution of the environment agenda in TD Bank NA, providing subject matter expertise and advisory services to business partners and executives. Works collaboratively with TD business partners and engages with key internal and external environmental stakeholders to implement environmental programs and initiatives relating to: the environmental footprint of our business operations, environmental risk in financing activities and development of green products and services.

Depth & Scope:

Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required

Promotes TD's environmental standards and programs and reports on progress against goals and targets

Provides support in promoting awareness and communications within TD Bank, NA regarding environmental issues

Provides environmental subject matter expertise and conducts research and analysis to support internal business partners that include real estate, IT, strategic sourcing, community affairs, the retail and commercial bank, risk management and marketing

Provides a US perspective in the development of TD's policies, practices and procedures relating to environmental issues

Acts as a primary contact for internal business partners within TD Bank, NA on issues relating to the environment

Directs and advises business units on requirements and schedules for collection of information required for the Environmental Management System and reporting requirements

Provides support to those who act as the primary contact(s) with external stakeholders, such as clients and customers, suppliers and NGOs, on issues relating to TD's environmental performance
