Job Description:

The Senior Manager Business Management Lead oversees and leads a large and/or highly complex, and diverse business management function for an area of significant risk, complexity, or scope usually involving medium to long term planning, ensuring an integrated approach with other business management areas, broader organization, and enterprise as appropriate.

This position is responsible for CRA strategic planning and performance assessment across the bank’s footprint and the mitigation of compliance risks by performing an ongoing CRA self-assessment, managing performance management and business insights, and working with partnering business lines to develop strategies to meet CRA performance goals. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing the business insights and strategy team in the First Line of Defense (FLOD). This position will also lead the bank in implementing new regulatory requirements through participation in working groups and on project teams, and critical documentation related to the CRA program, such as the CRA Business strategy and the performance context used in the CRA examination.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required

  • Develops, communicates, and implements a holistic strategy for own specific business management function in support of and integrated with the overall business strategy

  • Oversees/leads/manages and plans work activities that may require alignment across multiple areas

  • Leads the team in the development and/or integrated implementation of policies/processes/procedures/changes across multiple functional areas

  • Leads partners to management and respective teams for area of specialization with industry, external and internal, enterprise and business awareness; recognizing and anticipating emerging trends

  • Identifies issues and opportunities and recommends action to senior management

  • Acts as a strategic partner by leading relationships with key enterprise partners and interfacing with respective leadership team to effectively manage own business management area and clarifies scope of accountabilities while influencing and aligning others as needed

  • Ensures an integrated and aggregated view of all related activities across the overall function providing escalations, recommendations, and decision support to leadership

  • Forecasts programs/initiatives and demand, and coordinates prioritization of the portfolio/initiatives with key stakeholders

  • Provides functional/business level communications to ensure messages to stakeholders and/or employees are consistent, appropriate, and aligned to business strategies and executive management direction

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required

  • 10+ years related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing the development of CRA and other related regulatory strategic planning across all markets and ensure mitigation of business risk related to changes to the bank’s business CRA strategies, CRA assessment areas, or as a result of regulatory examinations.

  • Analytics: Experience managinga data strategy and reporting suite that provides clear understanding of CRA goals and business performance against those goals, as well as business insights to drive performance strategies.

  • Participation in various trade groups and industry associations for regulatory impacts pertaining to the department and provide guidance and feedback to CRA impacted business lines. Additionally represent CRA in working groups and related projects.

  • Developing and implementing Financial Education strategy and initiatives to ensure ongoing alignment to our Community Development goals

  • Advanced knowledge of, and extensive experience with retail and commercial banking operations
