Join a highly experienced and dynamic team responsible for the oversight and control of the market risk of TD Securities. The US Market Risk (USMR) team is responsible for ensuring that the market risk of TD Securities is well understood, transparent and controlled. USMR engages extensively with Trading Desks, Underwriting teams, Product Control, Finance, Compliance, Model Development & Validation, and Internal Audit, as well as many Senior Executives withing TD Bank Group, TD Bank N.A., and TD Securities:

US Market Risk's mandate includes:

  • Developing a strategic and respected team that has an in-depth understanding of the trading businesses, including trading strategies, products, market conditions and risks, and valuation drivers.

  • Providing oversight of market risk of TD Securities, ensuring all the significant market risks and results are appropriately measured and made transparent to the Bank's CRO, Senior Management, and the Board of Directors.

  • Developing and maintaining the market risk and valuation policies, with limits that are respected and consistent with the Bank's risk appetite.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of market risk exposures, including Value at Risk (VaR), Stress Testing, and scenario analysis, to identify potential risks and opportunities.

  • Monitor trading activities and assess their impact on the market risk profile of the US Independent Holding Company (IHC) and Combined US Operations (CUSO), providing timely insights and recommendations to senior management.

  • Support the development and implementation of market risk management strategies and policies in alignment with US Basel III FRTB requirements, ensuring effective oversight of trading activities and adherence to regulatory standards.

  • Enhance risk reporting frameworks and systems to improve the accuracy and efficiency of market risk measurement and reporting processes.

  • Partner with senior management and regulators to communicate our market risk management framework and ensure transparency and accountability in regulatory compliance efforts.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our market risk measurement and reporting capabilities, leveraging advanced analytics and technology solutions.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices in market risk management to ensure compliance and enhance risk management capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred.

  • 6+ years of experience in market risk management within a financial institution, with a focus on trading market risk within a G-SIB or US D-SIB

  • Strong knowledge of Basel III FRTB regulations and their implications for market risk management, particularly in a US IHC context.

  • Proven leadership experience in driving cross-functional initiatives and managing senior stakeholder relationships, with a track record of delivering results in a complex and dynamic environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset, with the ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable risk management strategies and solutions.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to a diverse audience, including senior executives and regulators.
