Managing Agile Coach II

Think of yourself as an "Agile Captain" and as a People Leader, you will mentor and lead teams of Scrum Masters and/or Agile Coaches. Together, you will provide hands-on support and guidance to specialized Agile teams up to the executive level. As the Managing Agile Coach II, your peers will look to you as a thought leader and foremost authority on the Agile methodology. That depth of knowledge combined with your passion for relationship building will inform your customized coaching plans that assess the capabilities and capacities of highly specialized disciplines within TD and their respective teams. You naturally think like a customer, and that drives you to develop smarter, more adaptable Agile product roadmaps that optimize resources and ensure more efficient and effective deliverables. Job Description

We are looking for an Agile expert - someone to lead, coach and nurture highly effective Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches who foster TD's inclusive, performance-driven culture. This role requires innovation and creativity, stakeholder management at all levels, soft and hard skills, coaching expertise, and a drive to empower those around them to execute and unlock the potential of the Agile principles and methodology.

Here are the essential job functions of this position:

• Leads a high performing team of Scrum Masters and/or Agile Coach Is; provide on-going feedback and performance reviews, coaches and develops employees and ensures performance management activities are undertaken and completed for all employees

• Includes direct support of work mobilization activities (e.g., road map development, functional decomposition)

• Ability and responsibility to recognize different Agile approaches / methodologies and align to the TD standard and be held accountable

• Recognized as a High Value Specialist and Agile expert within and outside the company and requires broad and comprehensive expertise in leading-edge theories or techniques in their own field

• Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required

• Anticipates internal and external delivery challenges, helping the team find solutions through process, product or service improvements

• Establishes and fosters a cohesive and collaborative team – from sponsors through to practitioners; promote a fair and equitable environment that supports a diverse workforce and encourage the team to achieve common goals and objectives

• Resolves most unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business

• Offers advice, guidance and training on how to transition to and operate in scaled execution environments across all levels

• Leads the process of setting performance objectives for the Agile team through coaching plans; track, monitor and effectively address and/or reward performance in a timely manner

• Performs training (e.g., towards IT& business leadership, or for Product Owners/Leads) for Agile teams, execution Leadership and Executives

• Attends key ceremonies, reviews artifacts and interviews practitioners to check practices against the standard Agile calibration framework

• Identifies potential steps to accelerate and reach the next level of capability

• Responds to inquiries from stakeholders at all levels in the organization (technical, business, Senior and Executive Management) and addresses/escalates concerns(e.g., Enterprise or Segment CoE)

• Develop and support coaching plans for Agile teams, as well as team members

• Supports and develops the Scrum Masters to enhance their effectiveness and capability

• Shares knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the Agile team – or relevant stakeholders - and ensure the timely communication of issues and encourage good working relationships with other functions and teams

• Supports an environment where Agile team freely escalates business challenges; facilitate change through positive reinforcement

• Drives continuous improvement of Agile practices / processes with an influence on industry best practices

• Monitors execution health continuously and engages stakeholders as required if project health changes

• Develops innovative approaches (and leverages industry best practice) to resolve execution problems /significant issues within the project

• Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

• Supports business and technology ownership to ensure their ability / agile competencies to complete key activities required for agile delivery, including roadmap and story map development and how those activities translate to traditional approaches such as

Job Requirements

• Undergraduate or post graduate degree

• Certified Scrum Master and/or Certified Scrum Master in scaled Agile framework (e.g., SAFE) and 7+ years of Scrum Master experience

• Typically requires 10 years of Agile experience

• Experience coaching in distributed Agile execution environments

• 7+ yrs. of related experience as an Agile coach involved in large-scale Agile transformations

• Expert knowledge of Agile principles and practices, with extensive experience working in an Agile organization
