Job Description:

The Head of US FCRM Monitoring Coverage & Capabilities Program Risk is responsible for maintaining the sustainability of the Monitoring Coverage & Capabilities Program through management of program risks including defining and managing the governance model, providing support for related regulatory exams and audits, monitoring, and assessing the effectiveness of controls, and measuring the overall health of the program through defined metrics. This role directly manages a team of risk managers dedicated to Monitoring Coverage & Capabilities program risk and governance and will partner with the first line of defense to gather information to inform risk and governance decisions.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required

  • Evaluates ongoing risks associated with the delivery of the monitoring and detection program in accordance with regulatory expectations

  • Understands and manages the internal and external stakeholders relative to risk identification and mitigation including the OCC, FRB and Internal Audit

  • Coordinates and develops action plans to measure and report on risk

  • Develops a data feedback loop process between all FCRM stakeholders in support of enterprise detection model development

  • Defines and manages the governance model for the Monitoring Coverage & Capabilities Program

  • Leads and manages the AML Transaction Monitoring Governance Committee

  • Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of Monitoring Coverage & Capabilities controls, facilitates quality assurance processes and provides credible challenge

  • Provides support for Monitoring Coverage & Capabilities related regulatory exams and audits

  • Measures overall health of the program through preparing regular reports and metrics

  • Directly manages a team dedicated to Monitoring Coverage & Capabilities program risk and governance

  • Partners with the first line of defense to gather information to inform Monitoring Coverage & Capabilities risk and governance decisions

  • Aligns with AML leadership on emerging risk and trends and supports feedback look development across all of FRCM intelligence functions to inform detection processes

  • Develops strategic roadmaps for alignment across BAU and remediation efforts

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree

  • 10+ years' experience

  • Financial crimes compliance experience in the financial services industry

  • Experience in industry with respect to processes/controls to evaluate Financial Crimes risk

  • Experience in managing/leading high performing staff

  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to maintain attention to detail

  • Strong analytical & critical reasoning skills

  • Experience with AML exams and reg engagement
