Department Overview:

The U.S. Real Estate Investment Banking (REIB) team focuses on the origination and execution of strategic advisory, private capital placement and M&A transactions. We work alongside our product partner groups (e.g., Leveraged Finance, DCM, ECM, Derivatives) to deliver the full suite of TD products and services to a client base that includes public REITs, financial sponsors, institutional asset managers, and national developers and operators of commercial real estate.

Job Requirements:

• Prepare analyses of clients' financial situations, financing and M&A opportunities.

• Create complex operating and transaction financial models, performing scenario and sensitivity analyses.

• Conduct valuation analyses using DCF, LBO, trading comparables, precedent transactions and NAV-based approaches.

• Analyze detailed corporate and asset-level information.

• Gather and synthesize industry and market data.

• Assist in the preparation of client presentations based upon the above.

• Contribute to a working environment that promotes respect for the individual employees and adhere to the policies and guidelines of the Dealer and Bank.

• Maintain confidentiality of client information and safeguard the firm's reputation and that of its clients and assets.

Associates serve as key members of the U.S. REIB group's deal teams. The successful candidate will work alongside seasoned industry professionals and under the overall direction of a senior banker throughout all stages of a transaction, from origination through closing. This experienced working professional-level role will provide a broad range of support to the group.

Qualifications:

• Strong academic record

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with an emphasis on finance/accounting

• Minimum of 2 years in investment banking, corporate finance or equivalent role

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong financial modeling skills and experience with various valuation techniques

• Demonstrated interest in the commercial real estate industry

• Self-directed, highly motivated and able to work independently

• Ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and other key stakeholders
