Job Description

The Pre-paid Cards Product Manager develops, implements and manages a suite of pre-paid card products, services and programs including features, benefits and characteristics that meet customer needs and are priced to meet Company and market share objectives. Recognized as a subject-matter expert in pre-paid card products, providing a foundation of knowledge to guide decisions throughout the product definition and launch. Builds a strategy to deliver innovative product offerings including chip, EMV and mobile technology, that drive increased customer acceptance, activation, and usage. Well versed in today’s changing regulatory environment. Performs objective analysis of potential market opportunities and articulates learnings to quantify the risk, including a financial model. Maintains effective relationships with 3rd parties involved in card production, sales, distribution, processing and servicing. Identifies competitive offerings in the market and assesses their strengths and weaknesses. Evaluates the presence and relative importance of key product deliverables. Establishes annual business and expense plans for each product and monitors results adjusting the plan to meet the changing environment, market segment needs and budget targets as necessary. Quantifies market analysis looking at internal measurements and product performance to determine how the product impacts the Company operations including product life cycle, quality, technical support, marketing programs and sales support. Maps products with target markets to determine which market segments to proactively pursue to ensure targeted segments will support the current and future business goals of the Company.

Job Requirements

• Responsible for suite of prepaid products P&L. Owns financial reporting and all financial forecasting activities. Also develops and creates weekly and monthly performance reporting that is leveraged for financial purposes as well as to understand customer engagement and identify product issues/opportunities.

• Develops and implements pre-paid card products, services and programs including features, benefits and characteristics that meet customer needs and are priced to meet Company and market share objectives. Recognized as an expert providing a foundation of knowledge to guide decisions throughout the product definition and launch.

• Builds a strategy to deliver innovative product solutions in today’s changing regulatory environment. Determines effective ways to deliver a complete solution to an identified market problem and looks for ways to fill gaps. Performs objective analysis of potential market opportunities and articulates learnings to quantify the risk, including a financial model.

• Identifies competitive offerings in the market and assesses their strengths and weaknesses. Evaluates the presence and relative importance of key product deliverables. Establishes annual business and expense plans for each product and monitors results adjusting the plan to meet the changing environment, market segment needs and budget targets as necessary.

• Quantifies market analysis looking at internal measurements and product performance to determine how the product impacts the Company operations including product life cycle, quality, technical support, marketing programs and sales support. Maps products with target markets to determine which market segments to proactively pursue to ensure targeted segments will support the current and future business goals of the Company.

• Creates product road-maps to illustrate the vision for the product. Plans product solutions that describe the ideal or stereotypical users that represent the programming targets. Creates scenarios to describe market problems and illustrate why product features/requirements are necessary.Develops marketing programs to move buyers through the buying process.

• Designs the Customer Experience to ensure convenient sales and servicing processes delivering on the brand promise of being America’s Most Convenient Bank.

• Becomes the expert on the market and its problems. Gathers industry expert opinions and qualitative market data for different market segments. Describes the Company's unique ability to deliver value while differentiating itself from competitive offerings.

• Builds and maintains strong relationships with key business partners. Ensures ongoing successful communication of the direction of the product life cycle. Acts as key integrator/liaison between business lines, enterprise and marketing department influencing and negotiating options to enable the achievement of successful and profitable product design.

• Manages the product development budget for specific products to ensure objectives can be achieved within budget. Ensures maximum profitability via management of risk levels authorizes risk policy changes as appropriate.

• Participates in civic activities to promote growth and development in the community and a positive image for the Company.

• Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

• Contributes to a positive, ethical and respectful working environment and communicates openly with others. Models Company culture both internally and externally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below

• 5+ years related experience required

• 7-10 years related pre-paid card experience required

• First hand knowledge of mobile payments, Chip and EMV technology is a plus.

• Strong P&L experience

• Experience in product design and marketing in a financial/banking environment

• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision making skills with ability to effectively communicate with senior managers

• Ability to build strong collaborative business relationships

• Ability to negotiate and apply skills to exercise influence over others decisions without express authority and influence change

• Demonstrated experience in project management and building project plans and presentations

• Solid understanding of product pricing and financial concepts

• Ability to think both tactically and strategically

• Demonstrated leadership skills to lead a quality team of well-respected product development experts

• Travel may be required
