Department Overview:

TD spends over $8 Billion each year with suppliers. The Strategic Sourcing Group’s (SSG) role, in collaboration with our business partners, is to create sustainable competitive advantage for TDBG by leveraging this third-party spend and the expertise of our key suppliers to meet our needs, reduce total cost and mitigate supply-related risks.

Our role is global in scope and we are embarking on a journey to transform the way we do sourcing, purchasing and vendor management within our department and more broadly across the organization.

Our team comprises over 200 people who are in various TD locations across North America.

Job Requirements:

The Manager, Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Diversity reports to the Senior Manager, Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Diversity and has several key accountabilities:

•Manage the development and implementation of TD Bank's Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Diversity Program and activities in alignment with SSG's ESG Strategy

•Help champion the development and implementation of TD's Responsible Sourcing & Supplier Diversity strategy, program and key deliverables

•Collaborate with internal stakeholders including SSG (Knowledge Management, Category Leads etc.), the lines of business, vendor management community, TD Corporate Citizenship etc.

•Research best practices in Supplier Diversity and Responsible Sourcing to provide knowledge and recommendations towards continuous program improvement

•Act as Ambassador for TD at various external events and conferences

•Assist with the preparation and development of communications, reports and presentations

•Help the business to identify diverse supplier opportunities to support innovation and diversity and meet goals/targets in TD's supply chain

•Support departmental goals and deliverables related to enterprise wide ESG Strategy and TD Ready Commitment

Job Description:

The Manager, Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Diversity, will be responsible to deliver on SSG's objective to enhance SSG's Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Diversity programs, and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) strategy more broadly, to further align with and strengthen the Bank's ESG Framework. The role offers the opportunity to drive meaningful change as SSG collaborates with the Bank's ESG Centre of Expertise to embed ESG considerations throughout our business practices.

  • Undergraduate Degree.

  • 7+ years relevant experience.

  • Confidence and ability to lead and manage a significant business management functional area and overall operation of a diverse group in an area of moderate risk, complexity or scope.

  • Readiness to focus primarily on short- to medium-term issues.

  • Strength in interacting closely with business leaders to both optimize resources and leverage TD's operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale.

  • Leadership in growing team expertise to align with demand and TD's business and technology direction, assess team capabilities, identify ways to provide and enhance value delivered, set team targets and objectives to deliver amazing results.

Preferred Qualifications - Here are the preferred qualifications for this role:

•Experience in responsible sourcing, supplier diversity, sustainability, corporate responsibility and/or diversity and inclusion, and/or passion for these areas, an asset

•Experience in procurement, supply chain operations and/or vendor management an asset

•Experience with reporting an asset

•Strong written and verbal communication skills

•Quality-focused, customer-oriented individual with the business and critical skills to manage a wide variety of responsible sourcing and supplier diversity activities

•Demonstrated stakeholder/relationship management, networking skills and ability to influence

•Ability to work independently and be a self-starter

•General knowledge of the TDBG organizational structure, including main business groups and their functions

•Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, mostly within the U.S. with some travel to Canada
