Department Overview:

•\tThe HR Specialist provides specialized analysis, consultative service and advice for own area of expertise, and develops, designs and, delivers HR solutions to enable businesses to achieve their goals and objectives. This role provides delivery of Organizational Effectiveness (OE) solutions, conducts job evaluations / assessments and review of processes/ initiatives/tools/best practices related to the OE function. Supports the evolution of TD's job architecture, job models and competency models more effectively. Manages end to end delivery of job code creation process while working closely with multiple Center of Excellence teams, HR Business partners and Business Solutions teams. Analyzes Org Health Metric data and insights while exercising judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. The HR Specialist owns and manages several projects from start to finish. Works closely with Human Resources and lines of business representatives to design and execute initiatives to accelerate organizational performance and effectiveness.

Job Requirements:

Bachelors degree

3-5 years related experience required

Proven facilitation and negotiation skills

Proven ability to work independently

Demonstrated knowledge of TD culture, management philosophy and experience in Human Resources is preferred

Proven organization, presentation, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of program administration and budget operations

Proven project management and project planning skills

Ability to manage large projects from start to finish, working autonomously

Proven leadership and collaborative skills to build and maintain proactive involvements with all levels of staff and members of the community

Demonstrated MS Office knowledge, particularly Work and Excel

Proven ability to conceptualize events and programs to engage end users

Advanced knowledge of organizational development philosophies and practices and industry trends

Outstanding relationship building, strategic planning, consulting and basic financial skills

Strong collaborative skills to build and maintain proactive, positive relationships with Customers

Creative and resourceful in generating and presenting new ideas

Provides innovative solutions



Job Description:

Leads larger, more complex team, department, organization-wide and cross-functional projects by setting project strategy, building process documents, resolving problems and monitoring project flow

Manages 2-4 large and mid-size projects

May manage department staff, including, but not limited to, temporary staff

Assumes incremental budget responsibilities (planning and oversight)

Works independently, with little direction

Serves as representative and subject matter expert of Human Resources in interactions with line of business representatives

Serves as internal consultant to line of business representatives

Implements legal compliance measures as it relates to Risk Management and Employment law

Acts as the lead person on committees for departmental and Company-wide HR projects

Determines best approach based on analysis of data and other committee members' recommendations

Champions committee recommendations with others

Partners with other HR departments to disseminate information to Managers and Employees and to facilitate interaction

Manages projects, including building process documents, setting appropriate benchmarks and expectations of the work, managing other Employees involved, communication and ultimately responsible for overall success

Establishes a budget for areas of focus allowing for progressive growth of area to be competitive while remaining fiscally responsible

Identifies alternative solutions to keep costs in control but still ensuring the best solution

Serves as a positive role model and knowledgeable, supportive contact for the larger HR team
