Job Description
As an Actuarial Manager reporting to the Senior Manager of Pricing Analytics, you will lead a talented team of actuaries and data scientists in delivering cutting-edge analytical solutions in close collaboration with the TDI Pricing team. You will guide your team in designing and implementing end-to-end machine learning solutions, from data preprocessing and feature engineering to model architecture design and inference pipeline development. A key aspect of this leadership role involves fostering innovation within your team, encouraging them to challenge conventional approaches, and steering the strategic reframing of business problems through an innovative lens. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities and empowering your team to leverage cutting-edge methodologies and technologies to transform traditional insurance use cases into breakthrough solutions.
Working closely with our Model Governance partners, you will orchestrate the development process to ensure our innovative solutions meet industry and company standards while maintaining their cutting-edge nature. This collaborative approach to model development and validation ensures both technical excellence and regulatory compliance, setting the foundation for sustainable innovation.
This leadership position requires expertise in developing scalable modeling frameworks, establishing robust validation protocols, and creating efficient deployment strategies. Strong leadership and collaborative skills are essential to guide your team, engage with business stakeholders, understand their strategic objectives, and translate business requirements into technical solutions while continuously pushing the boundaries of what's possible in insurance analytics.
Job Description Summary
Lead and develop a team of actuaries and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence while ensuring delivery of high-impact analytical solutions
Collaborate closely with TDI Pricing stakeholders to understand their unique requirements, develop tailored solutions, and maintain strong, productive relationships that drive mutual success.
Drive the strategic vision for end-to-end machine learning solutions, from problem formulation through deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market opportunities
Champion innovative approaches to traditional insurance problems, continuously identifying opportunities to leverage cutting-edge methodologies and technologies
Orchestrate collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex business requirements into actionable analytical frameworks
Partner with Model Governance teams to establish efficient validation protocols that balance innovation with regulatory compliance and industry standards
Guide the development of scalable modeling frameworks and robust inference pipelines, ensuring technical sustainability and operational excellence
Mentor team members in both technical and business aspects, developing their capabilities in areas such as feature engineering, model architecture design, and stakeholder management
Provide strategic oversight of multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring timely delivery of solutions while maintaining high standards of quality and innovation
Job Requirements
At least 7 years of actuarial experience in Property & Casualty inurance
Bachelor degree in Actuarial Sciences or related field
Proficiency and interest for programming, preferably python
Strong understanding of modern machine learning techniques and their practical applications in insurance contexts
Advanced analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills
Client-focused and aptitude for teamwork
Outstanding communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to varied audiences, from technical teams to senior leadership
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Autonomous and perseverant; shows initiative and creativity in their work
Recognized for their thoroughness and the quality of their work
Preferred Qualifications
FCIA near completion or at least seven Casualty Actuarial Society professional exams
P&C pricing experience
Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of modern data architecture and big data technologies (Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, etc.)
