Job Description:

The Loan Operations Supervisor I oversees operations of several functions or processes in relation to auto finance, manages workflow and staff of quality control specialists and credit bureau dispute specialists.

Depth & Scope:

  • Supervises operations of one or more discrete units or teams in operations

  • Recommends modifications to improve performance of units supervised within framework of established policies

  • Works with Supervisor II or Group Management to address performance problems, hire staff, train team members, etc

  • May supervise a unit or units geographically separated from department management

  • Ensures SLAs are consistently met

  • Monitors day-to-day activities of the department

  • Responds to elevated customer issues

  • Participates in project teams within team or across the division

  • Works to incorporate WOW! Standards within team

  • Facilitates meetings; records minutes

  • May recommend and implement the achievement of process enhancements

  • Applies knowledge of All Loan Operations in achieving efficiency and productivity objectives for the group

  • May develop relationships with management of internal and external functions/departments to enhance productivity of managed units

  • Seeks to influence others as needed to gain support and sponsorship for departmental initiatives

  • May facilitate change through positive reinforcement of milestones and successes escalating key issues to more senior management as necessary

  • May supervise the performance management process, supporting Employees in their personal and performance development

Education & Experience:

  • HS or equivalent with progressive work experience in addition to experience below

  • 1-3 years related experience required

  • Knowledge of processes and procedures of related areas is preferred

  • Leadership, coaching, counseling, and supervisory skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Knowledge of relevant banking rules and policies is preferred

  • Some budgetary management experience is preferred

  • Ability to balance competing priorities and make sound business decisions is required

  • Work supervised is generally divided into 2 or 3 discrete functions and Employees supervised are usually between 10 and 20

  • Occasional travel may be necessary
