Department Overview:

TD Bank's Credit Cards and Unsecured Lending organization offers consumer credit in three areas: TD-branded credit cards and personal loans; retail sales financing programs through TD Retail Card Services; and co-branded and private label card partnerships. Our credit cards are distributed through our East Coast retail store network and nationally through hundreds of partnership programs with retailers and other third-party organizations

Job Requirements:

Handles sensitive consumer information (credit bureau data raw PII)

Utilizes third party data sources, internal systems and tools to research and analyze information in order to ensure accuracy of credit reporting

Researches and responds to disputes received directly by mail, email or phone

Utilizes E-Oscar to quickly respond to indirect disputes in the way of Automated Consumer Dispute Verification (ACDV)

Corrects inaccurate account information provided to CRAs and document the resolution using internal systems and e-OSCAR

Maintains a clear understanding of current internal credit-related policies and procedures, as well as all applicable federal regulations and credit industry standards

Adapts to and endorses change and serves as an agent of positive change to support goals and direction

Demonstrates a strong commitment to meet or exceed external and internal expectations, service, and quality goals

Able to work within a corporate environment understanding its structure and adhere to schedule and punctuality requirements

Responsible for ensuring confidentiality of all aspects of the companys operations, portfolio, customer information and computer technology

Must be able to work weekdays and weekend/overtime as required to ensure adherence to SLAs

Compiles account information for debt validation requests

Engages internal/external partners to obtain pertinent account information

Additional responsibilities/duties as assigned by management

Job Description:

The Credit Bureau Dispute & Debt Validation Specialist researches direct and indirect credit bureau disputes; responds to customers and credit reporting agencies to ensure discrepancies are resolved and timely follow up occurs.

Qualifications:

Associates Degree or equivalent work experience

3+ years in Financial Services

Superior analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Candidate must be dedicated, self-directed and reliable

Knowledge of state and federal laws and agencies applicable to collections, including the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Dodd-Frank Act (UDAAP) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)

Good knowledge of basic computer skills; 40+ WPM and use of 10-Key pad
