Department Overview:

The Commercial Loan Administration Supervisor II is responsible for supervising commercial lending areas in accordance with Bank policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Commercial Loan Administration Supervisor II ensures consistent training, advice and guidance to staff members on practices and procedures, participates in development and management of unit budget, and identifies weaknesses and coordinates training for commercial personnel as needed. The Commercial Loan Administration Supervisor II is primarily responsible for the supervision of day-to-day activities of commercial loan administration unit(s), commercial document preparation, quality control and/or collateral unit(s) which provide support to the commercial lending groups.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.

4 year degree or equivalent experience

2+ years related experience required

Demonstrates knowledge of federal and state regulations and UCC and banking regulations required

Demonstrates knowledge of loan documentation required

Demonstrates interpersonal and communications skills; Can convey complex information to clients and less-experienced staff

Demonstrates planning and organizational skills; Can manage competing priorities to achieve business objectives

Strong PC skills, including Word, Excel, Access and other Microsoft products. Strong working knowledge of commercial banking systems

Previous supervisory experience preferred

Proven track record of achieving excellent results and driving towards team and individual goals



Job Description:

Supervises a team of Employees who specialize in a small unit of loan services

Establishes goals and objectives and coordinates the less complex and/or non routine activities including mergers, technology systems enhancements and improvements to workflow processes

Prepares in-depth reports

Provides strategic guidance on executing plans for department

Demonstrates functional and technical expertise required to perform core aspects of the job

Responsible for optimizing technology utilization within the Commercial Loan Departments

Leads projects to develop, implement, maintain and improve procedures in the Commercial Lending area

Develops new procedures when a need is perceived

Demonstrates functional and technical expertise required to perform core aspects of the job (includes systems, regulations, laws and accepted industry practices)

Manages department budget needs, including expense & capital projects

Responsible for integrating documentation and lending procedures when new banks are acquired

Ensures that the commercial loan services group is in compliance with all Federal and State regulations applicable to commercial lending

Partners with Loan Servicing team to ensure that wires, ledgers and transactions relating to servicing are accurate

Represents the Commercial Loan Services department on various task forces and committees

Recommends training needs within the commercial lending and loan administration group with particular emphasis on policies, procedures, compliance and documentation; Coordinates training with the Training Department

Assists staff with more complex aspects of loan administration as necessary; Resolves escalated procedural and other issues and problems by conferring with staff, other internal departments and external contacts as necessary

Establishes goals and objectives for staff and plays a key role in shaping and influencing initiatives to meet and exceed requirements

Exercises authority of the operations division concerning personnel actions including staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations

Responsible for staff development and ensuring team preparedness. Encourages, engages and provides feedback in a timely manner
