Department Overview:
US Treasury Business Line Financial Manager is a member of TD's US Treasury Internal Controls team, whose objective is to supplement control activities over US Treasury processes to ensure results are complete and accurate, with effective controls in place. This role provides controls oversight to include reviewing US Liquidity reports and US Treasury processes, reviewing EUC and process changes, and recommending and implementing process improvements and QA checks.
Job Summary:
The Business Line Financial Manager I provides planning, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis support for assigned line(s) of business and/or at the total segment level under the guidance of financial management. In addition, the Business Line Financial Manager I provides highly specialized financial consulting and analytical support at the assigned line(s) of business or total segment level identifying the following: key emerging financial trends, measurement of key performance metrics and success factors, line of business and total segment financial target setting and measurement, capital budget and key initiative evaluation and planning, cost and product profitability analyses, and specialized reporting and support for special projects. This position also includes people management responsibilities.
Depth & Scope:
Develops financial analytical and forecasting models to build sound forecasts, planning results, and test assumption. Also predicts results of business initiatives, including but not limited to ad hoc analysis
Mentors and develops those individuals directly reporting to the Business Line Financial Manager I. Effectively communicates plan assumptions, forecasts, and actual results to all levels of management to include variance analysis
Takes the lead as finance support on developing business case scenarios to understand the financial impact of various initiatives on the organization; In addition, researches and reviews details of business operating metrics and actively seeks to identify and promote new opportunities or products
Manages the development of conclusions and courses of action to rectify discrepancies as well as analyses to be presented to management for aid in decision-making processes
Develops and analyzes key metric and plan variances and related information
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree required, finance or accounting preferred
3+ years related experience
Understanding of banking industry financial analysis, planning, reporting and management accounting practices for assigned line of business
Excellent financial analysis skills, including ability to draw appropriate conclusions from large amounts of financial data
Strong understanding of general accounting and tax practices
Ability to guide businesses to achieve financial goals
Strong understanding of financial accounting and tax practices for assigned line of business
Management skills and experience
Understanding of related technology requirements and needs, including financial systems, planning models and report writers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present and explain information clearly
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting governance and control activities in Treasury, Change Management, Risk Management, Internal Control testing.
Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, strong organizational skills, quality assurance and ability partner with stakeholders are preferred skills associated with this role.
