Job Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required in a related field such as information technology, computer science, Bus. Admin – Masters preferred

Typically requires 10 years of Agile experience

7+ years of experience as a Coach, Prod Mgr, Scrum Master or Program Mgr.

Certified SAFE Release Train Engineer (RTE) or SAFE Program Consultant (SPC), Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (ACSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)

5+ yrs. of related experience as an Agile coach involved in large-scale Agile transformations, coaching multiple agile teams, Agile Management tools

3+ Portfolio or Program Management Experience

Advanced knowledge of agile theory, methodology – including scaling -, techniques, rules, and practices, estimating/sizing, product management, planning, forecasting, conflict resolution, coaching / leverage models, capacity and capability building and facilitation

Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends

Ability to establish goals and objectives that support the strategic plan and delivery execution for multiple and/or scaled teams

Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to the team and all levels of leadership

Ability to support forecasting initiatives and demand in order to help develop annual strategic plan

Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement and evaluate committed work activities to ensure completion of product initiatives

Skill in preparing and managing budgets and resource allocation

Advanced skill in mentoring, coaching, listening, providing feedback and performance management

Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques

Skill in using computer applications including MS Office and industry standard Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form to all levels and types of stakeholders (i.e. business, technology, sponsors and control functions)

Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions

Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently

Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Customer Accountabilities:

Manage and optimize the flow of value through a solution using various tools such as Kanban and other information radiators

Establish together with RTES and communicate the Program Increments (PIs) within the solution

Facilitates PI Readiness through coaching and supporting development of Vision, Product Roadmap, Features, Releases

Facilitates System Demos, PI Planning, Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings

Co-ordinates successfully the features to be deployed on the Agile Release Train being conducted by taking into consideration dependencies, order and architecture

Summarizes & Publishes the Program PI Objectives ensuring everything is rolling up to the Vision, Bold Aspirational Goals (B.A.G) and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) balancing business and technology

Facilitates Synchronization meetings as required to keep delivery aligned to achieving the business outcomes

Assists with feature and capability estimation as needed including budgeting of spend through forecasting

Works cross-functionally to align strategy, methodology and execution with all relevant stakeholders (i.e. Product Owners, Program Management, Release Management, Architecture etc.)

Provides input on resourcing to help teams identify bottlenecks

Coaches and promotes collaboration to leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Agile@Scale practices throughout releases to enable high performance

Partners with Business Owners, Product Managers and Product Owners to help assure strategy, vision and road map alignment and execution

Job Description:

The Solution Train Engineer is responsible for being the orchestrator for a solution in a Platform or Journey including facilitating and coaching to support execution. The role is responsible for the overall plan for the Journey or Platform and make sure that the plan has the resources, capabilities and capacity to execute. This role will escalate impediments, manage risk, help ensure value delivery, and drive relentless improvement. Participates in transformation and coordination releases as needed.

Accountable for coaching Release Train Engineers (RTEs) in the new processes and mindsets required to achieve agility. Works closely across team members to coordinate multiple releases as part of an overall solution.

Depth & Scope:

Key Subject matter expert with specialized knowledge in coordinating, leading and coaching multiple agile team of teams (e.g., Product Groups, Product Families across platforms)

Recognized as an Agile expert within and outside the company and requires broad and comprehensive expertise in leading-edge theories or techniques in their own field

Focus is on coaching and training executive leadership and assisting Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters

Significant in-depth expertise in Agile to interpret internal and external obstacles and recommend best practices

Coordinates the ceremonies, backlogs releases of various agile team of teams (e.g., Product Groups, Product Families) to successfully release in a program increment which incorporate many releases

Works with RTEs to limit W.I.P and drive continuous improvement using servant leadership across the solution train

Ensures there is alignment between the Program Increment's business outcomes design and delivery

Addresses difficult obstacles within their Solution, thinking critically to resolve impediments, be it architectural, leadership or logistics

Works with Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters to resolve complex problems, taking a broad perspective to identify unique and innovative solutions

Offers advice and guidance for delivery teams on how to transition to and operate in scaled delivery environments

Ability to provide guidance and oversight to multiple teams, growing capability across the organization
