In Singapore, TD operates as The Toronto-Dominion Bank, Singapore Branch and Toronto Dominion (South East Asia) Limited, which are collectively known as “TD Singapore” since 1979. The key business in Singapore is TD Securities (TDS) which is part of Wholesale Banking.

Internship Program

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within TD Securities under the Business Governance and Controls function.

TDS Governance and Control is under the purview of the APAC COO's Office. The team is responsible for supporting the Bank's business strategy within a robust risk and control framework. The candidate will have the opportunity to gain insights in both TD Securities Governance, Business Resilience and Outsourcing program. It will provide opportunities for the individual to understand how we build on the principles of Governance, business continuity and outsourcing and extend it much further to help improve TD Securities' infrastructure, so our businesses can address challenges, deter issues, balance risks and controls.

The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to acquire a broad banking perspective as they will interact with a variety of teams including but not limited to Front Office, Operations and Finance but also across products such as Fixed Income, Equities, FX and Metals. This is an exciting opportunity to experience day-to-day life in a banking environment.

Responsibilities

In joining the team, the intern is expected to support the following activities in the TDS Business Controls and Governance's Office:

  • Partner with the Business Resilience Manager to lead efforts related to the firm’s response to disruptive events by assisting in incident/crisis management program.

  • Assist to update contingency plans and reports as required by the regulators.

  • Assist to define and test business continuity, crisis management plans and procedures to reduce business interruptions, ensure continuity, minimize financial impact and adhere to legal/regulatory requirements.

  • Work closely with the APAC franchise for a range of outsourcing activities including assessment, documentation, controls and governance.

  • Assist in project documentation, including Outsourcing gap analysis for regulatory changes.

  • Organized, detail oriented with exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent time management, project management skills, comfortable with managing multiple deliverables

  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - VBA knowledge is not required but preferred

Requirements

  • Year 2 and Year 3 Undergraduates

  • Ability to commit for a full time internship from May 2024 to December 2023
