Department Overview

The Director, Product Marketing provides vision, leadership and strategic guidance in developing and implementing Company marketing plans and customer communication strategies and initiatives that support the Company brand strategy and product objectives.

Job Description

The Director, Product Marketing is recognized outside and inside the Company as an expert representing marketing and brand strategic initiatives. The job is the steward for the TD products and services ensuring they are relevant and compelling to our customers and consistent with the overarching TD brand. This requires a grasp of customer insight, advertising and messaging look/feel, building consistency within our stores and through other channels. Requires a deep understanding of TDs products and services and their relative competitive position.

Job Requirements

Oversees the successful design of marketing plans or customer-centric programs and relevant project plans incorporating full range of marketing resources and distribution channels. Determines and acts on long term marketing and customer strategies to ensure they are effectively supporting the business line needs.

Builds and maintains close relationships with senior business partners. Ensures ongoing successful communication of strategic direction of the marketing plans. Acts as key integrator/liaison between business lines, enterprise and marketing department influencing and negotiating options to enable the achievement of successful and profitable marketing campaigns.

Develops and executes marketing plans and creative briefs. Is committed to continuous learning, ensuring it is included within programs developed and is culturally engrained as an expected business practice. Continually monitors and tracks the success and effectiveness of marketing plan/campaigns as well as customer strategies and programs. Communicates results to the senior business partners.

Determines and implements the best creative and media options to market products and services, meeting business, brand and customer needs.

Develops and manages the marketing calendar and oversees the successful and seamless execution of deliverables ensuring established processes are followed, appropriate resources dedicated and consistently high level of professionalism is maintained.

Responsible for the marketing program budget of the Company. Determines the effective disbursement of overall budget to ensure business objectives can be achieved. Ensures maximum profitability via project reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of programs, ensuring budgets are reconciled, stated goals are achieved and learning's are well documented and communicated to senior business partners.

Champions change management across the Company continuously consulting with business partners and staff seeking opportunities for improvement in marketing planning. Educates and advises business partners on current marketing issues, brand strategy, execution standards and leading-edge industry trends.


Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

10-12 Years of related experience

Extensive knowledge of industry marketing strategies, advertising techniques and creative.

In-depth knowledge of full range of marketing resources and media.

Management experience required.

Proven project management skills.

Managers, other than those who serve as Executive/Senior Level Officials and Managers, including those who oversee and direct the delivery of products, services or functions at group, regional or divisional levels of organizations.

Receive directions from the Executive/Senior Level management and typically lead major business units.

Implement policies, programs and directives of executive/senior management through subordinate managers and within the parameters set by Executive/Senior Level management.

Serve at functional, line of business segment or branch levels and are responsible for directing and executing the day-to-day operational objectives of the Company, conveying the directions of higher level officials and managers to subordinate personnel and, in some instances, directly supervising the activities of exempt and non-exempt personnel.

Includes those who report directly to middle managers.

Understand and support the Bank’s Customer Service Strategy.

Consider the impact of advice and decisions on the well-being of the Bank, as well as its customers, its employees and stakeholders.

Provide the highest level of Customer service when dealing with internal partners, vendors or our Customers - WOW at every opportunity.

Lead, coach and model quality service delivery at every interaction.

Support the ongoing improvement of the partner/Customer experience.
